Memory #11
When I was five, I had the bedroom directly at the top of the stairs. My mom and dad's room was down the hall, my brothers' room to the right and my sister's, I don't remember. I felt so vulnerable and exposed in that room. If someone broke in at night, the first room he'd come across was mine! I woke up from a nightmare and could see a green face with red eyes glaring at me from my doorway. I yelled for Mom, but she was sound asleep. After what seemed like hours, I finally got up the courage and bolted to my oldest brother's warm and comforting bed, where he let me stay until morning.
